Wrenchman is a product design and development company, specializing in high speed data communications, primarily for the Point of Sale market. We offer support over the full life cycle of a product; from design, through production, and finally depot repair.

Wrenchman is structured along three lines: Administration, Engineering, and Production Services. Each staff member has responsibilities in at least two areas. While three people constitute the current full time staff of Wrenchman, Inc., Wrenchman serves as a technology facilitator, managing a wide range of sub-contractors, producing quality designs and timely products.

A brief summary of backgrounds and skills for each current staff member follows.:

 

Blakely LaCroix:

Education: University of Minnesota, 1967 - 1977. Electrical Engineering.

Prior Work:   Contract engineer 1977 through 1981. Founded Wrenchman, Inc. 1981 as a product development company. Member IEEE, AAAS, ACM.

Currently responsible for Electronic Hardware/Firmware Design and corporate management. Blakely has designed a wide variety of electronic equipment, ranging from Research and Analytical Instrumentation to our current POSio Connectivity Solutions for the Point of Sale industry.

 

David Johnston:

Education: University of Minnesota, 1963 - 1972. B.S. Chemistry.

Prior Work: Assistant Scientist; Radiation Laboratory, Department of Chemistry, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN.

Prior to coming to Wrenchman, David was responsible for the Mechanical and Electronic Design, modification, and construction of advanced state of the art equipment used in the study of high energy physics and physical chemistry kinetics. His most recent designs include an Electron Impact Spectrometer and a Laser excited photon energy tripler used to probe non-valent electronic structure of organic compounds. He developed analyzers for Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry under funding by 3M and the US. Department of Energy and numerous Electron Beam sources for analytical instrumentation. He developed and installed a fine line high energy (XRAY) lithography system for Van Halia Medical School in NY and the University of Minnesota. He has performed work with the National Synchrotron Light Source, Brookhaven National Laboratories funded by the National Institutes of Health. David is a member of the American Physical Society and has co/authored 10 papers in this field.

David is our lead Mechanical Engineer and is responsible for the mechanics and packaging of all new Wrenchman designs. He also provides service as an Electronic Designer and is responsible for product prototyping and development.

 

Tom Lohse:

Education: University of Minnesota. B.S.E.E.

Prior work: CPT, VP of Engineering, Moniterm, Founder and President Xyxis, Inc.

Tom is currently responsible for board layout, hardware design and development, and purchasing.
